The Dassault Rafale is France's latest fighter aircraft and has been in service since 2000, supplementing the Mirage 2000 which it will eventually replace. The Rafale is a multi role fighter and is very similar to the slightly larger Eurofighter Typhoon. The Rafale is used by both the French air force and French Navy, on board the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle. It has been proved in combat over Afghanistan and Libya and is one of the best fighters in service today.
The 3 types of Rafales in service are the 2 seat B for the French Air Force, the single seat C, also for the French Air Force and the single seat M for the French Navy.
Hobby Boss are a relatively new company to us in Western Europe. They are from China and are connected with Trumpeter. Hobby Boss are known for producing well engineered kits with a good level of detail.
This particular kit looks very well detailed and comes with a selection of ordnance and is probably the best Rafale kit in 1/72.
Markings are provided for 2 French Navy planes.
