SH72121 1/72 Hawker Sea Fury T61
The Hawker Sea Fury was probably the ultimate single piston engined fighter to enter service. It was designed as a lightweight version of the Hawker Tempest but based around the Bristol Centaurus radial engine. The RAF never adopted the plane but it was converted for aircraft carrier use and became the main fighter for the Royal Navy. The Sea Fury proved to be very succesful and served from 1945 until the mid 50's, when the more modern jets took over. A Royal Navy Sea Fury from HMS Ocean, managed to shoot down a MiG 15 over Korea during the Korean war. The T 61 was a 2 seat training version for training pilots.
Special Hobby is a Czech based manufacturer and this is their 1/72 Hawker Sea Fury T 61 kit. This is a detailed multimedia kit, consisting of mostly injection moulded plastic parts but with additional resin and photo etch metal parts.
Markings are provided for Sea Furies of the Iraqi and Pakistani Air Force
